Please take me off this mailing list. St Andrews has my email address for functions and informational purposes only, and not for political gain. I find that politics and spirituality really just don’t mix and some of the hatred that is being spewed regarding this amendment lately is really not very Christian-like. The amendment is not really a vote for marriage and more people need to read through the entire amendment, beyond the first line that “marriage is between one man and one woman”. There is a host of other rights that would be affected in passing this amendment. Marriage is a sacred institution between the people getting married and God. I joined St. Andrews to worship with loving, tolerant, open-armed, welcoming Methodists. During communion, Pastor Chris used to say “all are welcomed here”. Now I am getting emails trying to sway my politics. I will continue to be a loving, tolerant, open-armed, welcoming Methodist and human being, but I leave the judging to God as the bible suggests.
